Wet Scrubber

Wet Scrubbers are effective air pollution control devices that can be used to remove particulates and/or industrial exhaust gases. This technology employs the counter-flow current of liquid and gaseous phase and facilitates the transfer of acid from the gas to the liquid, called scrubbing. Scrubbers are one of the primary devices used to control gaseous emissions, especially acidic gases.

Acidic gases are substances that are harmful, polluting and often corrosive. These gases are often found in semiconductor processes, galvanic, steel-pickling, water-treatment, precious metal recovery and many more. The main gases are NOx, SOx, HCL, Chlorine, HCN and HF.

Base on the target pollutants, Alloyplas uses a few types of proprietary reagent for the recirculating liquid to increase the efficiency of the scrubbing effect by removing or neutralising the pollutant from the gas stream. By working closely with our customers, Alloyplas offers highly efficient Air Pollution Control Systems to ensure compliance to clean air emission and also to a healthier environment.

Odour, VOC and HAP

Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) is organic compound that vaporises at room temperature and normal atmospheric pressure. VOC is a chemical compound that are naturally occurring and also human made. Most scents or odors are VOCs, and they play important roles in the communicating between plants. However, some VOCs are dangerous to both human health and also harmful to the environment.

Anthropogenic VOC sources is mainly coatings, especially paint and protective coatings, which has got high content of solvent. Some solvents are known to be carcinogenic while many others are being considered by the World Heath Organisation to be likely carcinogens. Solvents can damage internal organs and cumulative effects of long term or repeated exposure to solvents are called Chronic Solvent-Induced Encephalopathy (CSE).

Thermal Oxidizer is used to destroy Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), and odorous emissions that are discharged from industrial process. Emission destruction is achieved through the process of high temperature thermal or catalytic oxidation, converting the pollutants to carbon dioxide and water vapor.

Depending on the VOC emission concentration, Alloyplas works closely with our clients by analysing and understanding the process emission and operational requirements, to propose the best technology to use.
